Argha Noah for Puerto Rico
Argha Noah presents a day-to-night festival of art, music, food, and film, to serve as both a celebration of Puerto Rican culture and a tool for raising awareness about and funding for the needs of the island.
Battered and utterly devastated from one of the worst hurricanes to ever make landfall in the United States, nearly all of the Puerto Rico’s 3.4 million inhabitants remain without power two months later. Further, this natural disaster and humanitarian crisis is worsening the island's existing debt problem — a staggering $70 billion.
Lacking statehood, Puerto Ricans cannot vote in either the Presidential or Congressional elections, but are ultimately bound by the their ruling. Puerto Ricans are Americans, and they deserve our help. That is why Argha Noah is hosting a fundraiser — to give back to the island that has given so much. And we will do so through a celebration of Puerto Rico's rich cultural and artistic heritage.
On December 10th, "Argha Noah for Puerto Rico" will feature:
+ Silent auction and raffles to raise funds for Unidos por Puerto Rico Disaster Relief efforts
+ Small plates by Puerto Rican Chef Andre Gomez of Porch Light Latin Kitchen
+ DJ set and live music by Santiago Paramo and special guests
+ Art installations by La Choloteca, Signs of Solidarity ATL, and more
